Want to win a year’s pass to the SpiritBar? The Kootenay Network and the SpiritBar have teamed up to give one blogger a VIP pass to the night club in return for writing about the DJs, bands and events that pack the bar each week.
To enter, people sign up for a free blog account at the Kootenay Network and start blogging. We have a series of posts about how to use our network here. The winner will be funny, descriptive and be comfortable posting photos and video of the shows they see.
“We’re looking for somebody with a passion for music who will become our reviewer of shows at the SpiritBar,” says Rik Logtenberg, publisher of the Kootenay Network.
Ryan Martin, general manager of the Hume Hotel and the SpiritBar, says the contest is a great benefit to the SpiritBar.
“I think it would be great to get somebody on board to write about what’s coming and what happens here.”
Martin says there’s a continual lineup of world-class DJs, bands and movie premiers coming through the SpiritBar and whoever wins the Battle of the Bloggers will have plenty to write about.
He puts a focus on keeping the musical acts varied to keep people interested in coming out.
Martin says he hasn’t done the actual math, but he figures the prize is worth over a thousand bucks, if the winner were to go to all the shows the SpiritBar has.
Tips on winning the contest
- Write with a clear and authentic voice.
- Make your blog informative.
- Create content that is interesting and/or amusing.
- Use pics and video where you can to add interesting visuals to your post.
The catch
If you’re blog is selected by The Kootenay Network for the Year Long VIP Pass, you will be required to blog at least twice a month about shows you see there.
